La medida, denominada Tarifa Neuquina, descuento reaches the fixed and variable charges of residential customers, regardless of their consumption level. The program will require users to complete an adhesion form, which the provincial energy agency will make available shortly.
El announcement took place during the anniversary event of Los Miches, where Governor Rolando Figueroa said that residents of Neuquén will pay 30% less for electricity in their homes. The benefit was presented as unprecedented within the province and without a direct counterpart elsewhere in the country.
Cómo se accede al beneficio
La Tarifa Neuquina no se aplica de manera automática. Para obtener la reduction, residential users will have to register by completing a form that the EPEN will publish shortly. The exact date for registration was not confirmed at the time of the announcement, although the provincial government stated that the procedure will be available soon.
Once the adhesion is completed, the discount will appear on each monthly bill. It will cover both the fixed and variable charges and will include all residential user categories, without requiring a minimum consumption or a specific usage pattern.
“A partir del mes que viene, los neuquinos pagaremos 30 por ciento menos de luz en cada una de las viviendas.”Rolando Figueroa
Una medida linked to Neuquén’s energy role
From the provincial government, the rebate was explained as a measure linked to Neuquén’s role as an energy generator. The province produces electricity through its hydroelectric plants and through the development of Vaca Muerta, whose expansion has gained recognition in the international hydrocarbons market. According to officials, the aim is to transfer part of those resources directly to the bills of users.
- The discount applies to both the fixed and variable charges on the electricity bill.
- It covers all residential user categories, regardless of consumption level.
- Access requires completing a form that the EPEN will make available shortly.
- The benefit is expected to reach thousands of users across the province.
- The announced reduction begins next month and will be reflected on subsequent monthly bills.
The plan also includes a second stage for the tourism sector. Figueroa anticipated that hotels and restaurants could access a 30% discount, in line with the reduction already granted to EPEN agroindustrial activities. The government did not set a date for that extension.
In this way, the provincial government seeks to turn the energy role of Neuquén into a concrete relief on household bills. The practical challenge now is the adhesion process: the form is not yet available, and the start of the rebate will depend on its publication and completion by each interested user.
